Sylvia Aslanian
Sylvia Aslanian has been teaching at Millhopper Montessori School for over 20 years. She teaches Speech Drama, Debate to 1st - 8th grades and Technology/Stem Education to K - 8th grades.
Sylvia holds a degree in Information Technology/Visual Communications and a National Certificate in Stem.
As the Drama Teacher at Millhopper Montessori School she wears many hats as the director, costume designer, set designer, publicity coordinator, and sometimes choreographer for the year end performance (every other year) with a cast of 120 students in 1st - 8th grades. She also directs the Middle School Shakespeare Festival and the Festival of Dionysus.
Before working at Millhopper Montessori, Sylvia was an evening talk show host at WKTK, and worked as the Producer's Assistant at Trans World Entertainment/Epic Productions in Los Angeles. She also worked in the Puppeteer Department for Fun Amusements, Inc in Culver Studios.
Her love for theatre and film led her to be part of The Spotlight Kids after school program, eventually becoming the sole director guiding and training her Middle School Thespian Troupe to win many awards in solo musicals, acting, improv, scene writing, publicity design, and costume design. She also has a JR troupe made up of 3rd - 5th graders.
She often collaborates with her previous co-director, Elizabeth Bublitz, co-owner of Dance Zone of Melbourne, Inc.
The Spotlight Kids is now known as the The Spotlight Kids Performing Arts Company.
